The bacon in the refrigerator is for making salad dressing.

How good would the dressing be without the bacon?

Well, it's a warm spinach salad dressing, so the bacon fat is the oil base. And then you crumble the bacon on top...

I love spinach, BUT I'm allergic to spinach. Therefore...

pretend I'm coming to dinner, and you can't possibly make a spinach salad because I won't be able to eat it!

Which means you can go and have some BACON!!!

;)

Instead you can have a slice of the homemade pound cake, which I made from scratch (what a mess that created!)... and for which [info]elusivetiger whipped up a sauce made of butter, rum and Amaretto. -_-

I go to a restaurant solely for their spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. There isn't a chance you'll share the recipe..?

Gladly! I'm using Alton Brown's recipe, but without the eggs, since I'm not a huge fan of them. I toss in some crumbled walnuts instead. :)

Heehee. :)

[info]elusivetiger figured out that if we make a large bowl of it (enough for five or six servings) and store it in the refrigerator already made up, we will eat from it pretty much all day for a couple of days. Having to make a single serving of salad from scratch, even though it's not much effort, seems to deter me from eating it as often.

This way, I'm always picking at it. :)

Air salad, dressed with bacon, is perfectly legitimate.

(That said, bacon and spinach go together so wonderfully, eve I can't really advocate not waiting).

*whines with you*

I don't even think we have bacon. If we do, though...I smell breakfast! (Although I'll have to get someone else to cook 'em. My cooking skills are about equal to a three-year-old with a bag of flour and a toaster.)

Cooking is a handy skill. I too couldn't cook until I got married... but it's not too hard to learn. I highly recommend it! :)

I'm guessing bacon in the refrigerator is GONE by now. And not for salad dressing, either.

A friend of mine just got back from Shropshire with tales of...BACON BAPS! Four DIFFERENT KINDS of bacon! She's just telling me this to be cruel...

There is a small shop near bar called the Pork Shop. They sell pig. In all of its glorious forms. I have yet to escape with less than 10 lbs of fresh pork product.
