Color Correction

After years and years and years of manual color correction, I finally have real software, with a real hardware colorimeter. Thumbnail exposition: When you scan something, it doesn't necessarily look the same as the original, and then you have to spend a long time (for me it was often hours) to get the colors to match when you print it out.

This will take care of that for me, forever and ever. What I print out will look like the original the first time I scan it.

One small hitch: to take advantage of this, I need to re-scan everything I've ever scanned. But that's just for existing artwork (ssh, people who know how much stuff that entails, I know, I know). From now on, art I scan will be right the first time.

This also takes care of a different problem: I was loath to finish or sell any originals once I made the decision to start saving up for this package, knowing I'd be re-scanning stuff. Willow has been lying on the table untouched for that reason, though I'm only about two working days from finishing it; I've had inquiries about several other originals that I have deferred until now.

Once I get this set up, tested and working, well... full speed ahead. :)

And finally, the company web page... http://www.monacosys.com/solutions/desktop/index.html ...which is taking forever to load. O:p

The Monaco Systems page takes forever to load because Monaco was bought by X-Rite and now their website is the one with the EZ Color info.

The art came today!! I came in the door, immediately (and carefully) tore open the envelope, and then ran to wash my hands so I could take the beautiful artwork out.

If you are using the paper that Morgan by the Sea is on, I am going to be saving up to get prints of Thirukedi, and I will probably get a new Morgan.. I bought one from you last spring, but the brushwork on hopeinfreefall's print.. oh, it is so beautiful! Please tell me you will be using this paper? It's a matte one.

Ghost is so velvety, it's amazing..

Believe it or not, the paper I've chosen is even nicer than the paper Morgan by the Sea is on. :)

I'm anxious to see how Willow turns out....I'm in love with what you have so far, and at the least would want a print.

Less work you spend hand-balancing the colors means more time you can spend painting!
