Oh, wow! That's a photo? What kind of fish is that? Saltwater, definitely, but I can't place him and he is adorable.

...amateur fishkeeper response over, that is a lovely, rather subversive haiku and I like it a lot. It does the whole thing I love, where you set up a situation in the first bit and then you do something unexpected with it for the last bit...

It is subversive in more ways than one, as it's not a real fish, but a Tropical Fish Turbo liquid solar heater (http://www.waterwarehouse.com/products/sku-8654.html?NG_urlID=9433836) for the pool.

It floats half above the waterline... and often backwards. It has a computer in it. [info]elusivetiger and I are often mystified by it, and the dog finds it vaguely unnerving.

Now, why the fish computer swims backwards... that I can't say. Which is what prompted the haiku, more or less...

*...applauds, mutely* Somehow that makes both poem and picture even better.

I've been wanting to make a post about the fish for a while. Truly, the only way I could do it was as a haiku. Nothing else was surreal enough.

I love the concentric circle too. Very artfully done! It's fun to sit and think about what other situations the haiku might apply to.

I miss my Florida house and its swimming pool now D:
I wish we'd had one of those. The closest we ever got to something like that was one of those floating ducks that dispenses the chlorine from underneath.

Now this is a comment for the next entry, which really could have used comments enabled for it....

Once someone plugs your forum/Coppermine/Other gallery URL into a spamposter, there's virtually no way to get rid of it.

Except by making a change to the URL. That'll usually get them. You usually don't need to add one of graphic text things (Kaptcha?). One system I've been on has an interesting trap. A field that is meant to be left blank. Bots will fill it in, making them easy to detect. Also, don't give your form fields clearly recognizable names, like "Comment" and "E-mail".

Just consider yourself lucky. I was getting spam for some of the most reprehensible forms of porn until I had to completely disable comments (since people weren't using them anyway).
