...for those of you keeping up with the state of the jaguar business (it is becoming that, I am stunned to see): After years and years and years of manual color correction, I finally have real software, with a real hardware colorimeter. Thumbnail exposition: When you scan something, it doesn't necessarily look the same as the original, and then you have to spend a long time (for me it was often hours) to get the colors to match when you print it out. This will take care of that for me, forever and ever. What I print out will look like the original the first time I scan it. One small hitch: to take advantage of this, I need to re-scan everything I've ever scanned. But that's just for existing artwork (ssh, people who know how much stuff that entails, I know, I know). From now on, art I scan will be right the first time. This also takes care of a different problem: I was loath to finish or sell any originals once I made the decision to start saving up for this package, knowing I'd be re-scanning stuff. Willow has been lying on the table untouched for that reason, though I'm only about two working days from finishing it; I've had inquiries about several other originals that I have deferred until now. Once I get this set up, tested and working, well... full speed ahead. :) Stardancer Home.Tags: art, news, process Current Mood: whoot! *faceplant*
